2012-13 Signature Winter Events

Estes Park - Estes Park Winter Festival, Jan 19-23, 2012, Estes Park Winter Festival, an event that features a candyland ice village with interactive games & sculptures, ice skating, pony rides, musical entertainment, a Ceildh (Kaylee) party with dancing and storytelling, chili cookoff, wine and beer tasting, downtown scavenger hunt, horse and carriage rides and more! Festival entry fee: $5 per person; no charge for children under three.

Breckenridge - International Snow Sculpture Championships January 22-February 3, 2013
2012 will be the 22nd year of International Snow Sculpture Championships. The Sculptures "live" in the area around the Riverwalk Center grounds.

Aspen - X Games, January 24-27, 2013, Winter X Games will return to Aspen/Snowmass at Base of Buttermilk Mountain 200 of the world's best athletes in skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobile throw down over four action-packed days of competition for the most coveted medals in action sports.

Loveland Ski Area - 22nd Annual Mountaintop Matrimony, Feb 14, 2013, The 22nd Annual Valentine's Day Mountaintop Matrimony ceremony and reception is a Loveland tradition where new couples are joined in matrimony and married couples renew their vows in a mass wedding at The Ptarmigan Roost Cabin, elevation 12,050 feet, located at the top of Lift #2. The Honeymooner's Apres Party for all participants and their guests follows the ceremony at the Loveland Basin featuring music, wedding cake, spirits and even a best dressed contest. Participating couples must pre-register online in order to receive the 2 for 1 lift ticket special. For more information please call (303) 571-5580 Ext. 141.

Leadville/Ski Cooper - Ski Joring and Crystal Carnival, March 1-2. 2013, Ski joring, which entails a horse and rider pulling a skier down a snow-packed road over jumps while spearing rings in a timed competition, has been an annual event in Leadville since 1949. This captivating winter sport is as much fun to watch as it is to participate in!
